My Story
Hi. I’m Heather. From a very young age, my life was shaped by pain. In elementary school I experienced severe stomach aches, chronic constipation, and constant discomfort. My parents, teachers, and doctors were deeply concerned, and I missed countless days of school and important childhood moments. By the time I entered junior high, I was unhealthy, withdrawn, and spending most of my time inside. I underwent test after test, procedure after procedure, and even surgeries—yet answers were scarce.
High school brought new layers of struggle. I was overwhelmed by joint pain, depression, and anxiety. I lived in a state of fear, shame, and darkness. When I was diagnosed with chronic pain, I was sent on my way with no real support, guidance, or understanding. I entered a community that felt hopeless and unsupported.
After a knee injury and surgical repair as a teenager, something in me shifted. The long rehabilitation process showed me what resilience could look like. I decided I was done sitting on the sidelines of my own life. I dedicated myself to healing—physically and emotionally. I changed my lifestyle and pursued a career as a Physical Therapist Assistant. Since 2010, I have had the privilege of treating patients across many settings including: homecare, subacute rehabilitation centers , outpatient clinics, public schools, aquatic therapy, and even hippotherapy.
In 2013, I married my best friend and later welcomed two beautiful children. But with the joys of motherhood came new stresses, and slowly my pain returned—stiffness, aching joints, fatigue. At the same time, as a clinician, I saw firsthand how the medical system often dismissed or misunderstood people living with chronic pain. And as a person living with that same pain, I understood how isolating, invalidating, and terrifying that felt.
I worried constantly about what was “wrong with me,” because my pain was real. It had always been real. But what I hadn’t understood yet was why it was happening. Over time, through self-education and deep self-reflection, I realized that I had lived most of my life in a constant state of stress—never truly resting, never fully healing. My nervous system had been stuck in survival mode.
That awareness became the doorway to change.
I began reconnecting with my body through breathwork, mindful meditation, body scans, and gentle movement. I learned to listen without judgment and to soften instead of brace. I became a Reiki II practitioner to support my own healing and to expand the ways I could support others.
Slowly, something incredible happened:
My pain decreased. My stiffness eased. My body began to trust me again.
I rediscovered what it meant to live with my body rather than fight against it.
Today, my purpose is clearer than ever. I am dedicated to helping others understand what I wish I had known as a child:
You have the power to change your relationship with your body.
You have the power to calm your nervous system.
You have the power to heal.
I want to create a space where your pain and stress are heard, seen, and respected—a place where you can feel safe, supported, and empowered. A place where you can learn to take control of your health and wellbeing. A place where peace is not something you wait for, but something you know how to create from within.

What happens if we are in a constant state of stress?
Being in a constant state of stress can lead to various conditions including;

–Adrenal fatigue and hormonal issues: Cortisol, adrenaline and norepinephrine can strain glands, and potentially lead to thyroid and reproductive disorders and burnout.
–Inflammation; allergies, skin conditions, autoimmunity and body achesSleep disturbances; insomnia or broken sleep which can lead to impacting focus.
–High blood pressure: which could lead to cardiovascular disease
-A weakened immune system
–Emotional a Psychological Symptoms; anxiety, hyper vigilance, depression, mood swings, panic attack, “brain fog”Amplified pain sensations
How can we do this?
At Honey Bee Healings LLC, we guide you in learning practical tools to shift your nervous system from a state of chronic stress into a state of calm, balance, and healing. Together, we explore how to move from the Sympathetic Nervous System — the fight/flight/freeze response — back into the Parasympathetic Nervous System, where rest, digestion, and healing naturally occur.
You’ll learn simple, accessible practices to support your emotional and physical wellbeing, including how to gently reframe negative thoughts and cultivate a more positive, empowered lifestyle.
We fully recognize that many health conditions require medical care, and we deeply respect the importance of medication and professional treatment when needed. What we offer are supportive tools that complement your existing care—practices that can help ease stress, enhance your healing process, and potentially reduce the long-term effects of prolonged stress on the body.
